An Instagram post from her account conveyed the profound sorrow, stating, "This morning is a challenging one for us. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of our beloved Poonam's passing due to cervical cancer. Every living being that crossed paths with her experienced genuine love and kindness. During this period of mourning, we kindly request privacy as we cherish the memories we shared.


The announcement left her admirers and social media users in shock. Nevertheless, skepticism emerged, with some questioning whether it was a hoax or a result of a compromised account. Upon reaching out to her PR team, India Today received clarification, "She was diagnosed with cancer some time ago, and it was in the advanced stages.
